Groupon.com Review

Each day, Groupon emails its members one unbeatable offer on something great to do in your city (get your business featured). We offer consumers great values by guaranteeing businesses a minimum number of customers. If a certain number of people sign up, then everyone gets the Groupon offer. If that minimum isn't reached, then no one gets it.
In addition to huge exposure, Groupon generates a large number of sales in a short period of time. Given the appeal of our offers, users frequently pass the information along to others, which translates to the potential for even more customers for your business.
Groupon is for people who want to save money, and for business the want new customers.
I think the site reaches its intended audience because it is accessable on most tech devices like cell phones, and Ipad. The site is a great resource to save money.I would encourage everyone to visit Groupon.com
Did you know?
Google’s much-rumored acquisition of Groupon is off, we’ve confirmed with a source with knowledge of the deal. The news was reported earlier by Chicago Breaking Business, and we’ve verified that the deal is indeed off.
The two companies have been in serious negotiations for at least the last week, with reports stating that Google was bidding as much as $6 billion for the red-hot local deals company.
Our source has also verified that Groupon’s annual revenues are now at a $2 billion run rate, which is much higher than the figures that had previously been circulating (this number was reported by AllThingsD a few minutes ago). The $2B figure is the total value of Groupons sold — half of the cost of the Groupon goes back to the merchant, but all the revenue passes through Groupon in much the same way that Google collects all AdSense dollars and counts them as revenues before passing along a portion to publishers.

What is the World Wide Web Consortium?

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community where Member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to develop Web standards. Led by Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee and CEO Jeffrey Jaffe, W3C's mission is to lead the Web to its full potential.

Who can Join W3C?

Membership in W3C is open to all types of organizations (including commercial, educational and governmental entities) and individuals. Any entity that can sign the Membership Agreement can become a Member. Members may be either for-profit or not-for-profit organizations. Most Members invest significant resources into Web technologies. They may be developing Web-based products, using Web technologies as an enabling medium, conducting research on the Web, or developing specifications based on W3C work.

What does it cost to join?

In order to promote a diverse Membership that represents the interests of organizations around the world, W3C fees vary depending on the annual revenues, type, and location of headquarters of an organization. For instance, as of 2011-03-01, a small company in India would pay 1,905 USD annually, a non-profit in the United States would pay 7,900 USD, and a very large company in France would pay 68,000 EUR.

What is scripting?

A script is program code that doesn’t need pre-processing (e.g. compiling) before being run. In the context of a Web browser, scripting usually refers to program code written in JavaScript that is executed by the browser when a page is downloaded, or in response to an event triggered by the user.
Scripting can make Web pages more dynamic. For example, without reloading a new version of a page it may allow modifications to the content of that page, or allow content to be added to or sent from that page. The former has been called DHTML (Dynamic HTML), and the latter AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML).
Beyond this, scripts increasingly allow developers to create a bridge between the browser and the platform it is running on, making it possible, for example, to create Web pages that incorporate information from the user’s environment, such as current location, address book details, etc.
This additional interactivity makes Web pages behave like a traditional software application. These Web pages are often called Web applications and can be made available either directly in the browser as a Web page, or can be packaged and distributed as Widgets.
